About

Hi I’m Trish McCormack and I am an Interior Designer.

I was born and raised in Geelong, I went to Sacred Heart College many moons ago.

As a child, I always had a natural interest in fashion and interiors. I would be in the car on my way to school each morning and passing all these houses. I would visualise what I would do to improve them… from paint colour, to design, to the gardens. I would always enjoy passing my favourite houses and marvel at their beauty for inspiration.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I left school. I went to Victoria University for a bit and then deferred and decided to get a job.

I have a creative background ignited 15 years ago as the Advertising Account Manager for the Geelong Advertiser.

I was so lucky. I had so much autonomy and I was so enthusiastic, here I was able to really tap into my creative side by doing creative photoshoots and create advertising campaigns. Collaborating with clients on their advertising concepts, with the help of the in-house photographers and graphic designers.

My experience with the Geelong Advertiser really gave me the confidence to follow my dream of working for a high profile magazines, but I really wanted to do this abroad.  So off I traveled with my now husband. We quit our jobs to broaden our horizons to go travelling.

After a 6-month stint travelling, we eventually ended up in London, where we based ourselves. I was eager to continue my Advertising Industry career in the UK. In London I worked for Elle Decoration, a popular interior design home publication, and Inside Out Magazine.

Upon my return to Geelong, I continued to follow my passion for Interior Styling, by enrolling in The Gordon’s Interior Design course. I absolutely loved the course, it was amazing, the teacher were amazing, I learnt so much. I was such a dedicated student for the first time in my life. The work load was big but every single unit was invaluable information that I just absorbed and retained.

The importance of Creating a happy home…..

It is important to think of your space realistically.  Think about this – how do I use my space? How does my family use their space?  Where do we spend most of our time?

Creating a happy home is simple: surround yourself with things that make you happy and bring you joy.
